The Boston Celtics anxious for 18 as in the next franchise championship instantly seized control ambushed the Dallas Mavericks. The Celtics closed out the first quarter of Mondays NBA Finals Game 5 on a 9-0 run and took a 67-46 lead over the Dallas Mavericks into halftime. The Mavericks scored three straight dunks and layups with Horford waiting to rejoin the Celtics lineup after which Mazzulla called timeout. The Celtics enter the fourth with a 15-point lead 85-70 and are just 12 minutes away from putting the Mavericks in a 3-0 hole out of which no team has ever come back from.
