Papmochani Ekadashi: A Divine Opportunity for Purification and Moksha

The Significance of Papmochani Ekadashi

Papmochani Ekadashi, observed on April 5th, 2024, holds immense significance in Hindu tradition. Its name translates to "sin-relieving Ekadashi," indicating its power to cleanse individuals of their past sins and transgressions. By observing this sacred day with utmost devotion, devotees can attain divine grace, inner purification, and the path to ultimate liberation (moksha).

The Story Behind Papmochani Ekadashi

According to the Brahma Purana, Lord Vishnu once narrated the story of Papmochani Ekadashi to King Yudhishthira. In the tale, King Mandhata, a virtuous and charitable ruler, was unjustly accused of sin by King Ravana. Deeply distressed, Mandhata sought the guidance of Lord Vishnu, who advised him to observe Papmochani Ekadashi with unwavering faith. By doing so, Mandhata not only absolved himself of the false accusation but also attained divine grace and eternal bliss.
